one gear - one bike - my bike
I’m still waiting for an answer from the bike-shop to get an idea how long I need to work in order to have enough cash to get my custom-built-singlespeed-bike. Already one week passed by without hearing anything. I don’t even know if they got my fax.
To get an idea about what I think is the best bike ever, here’s my wishlist:
- Frame: Surly 1×1 Frameset, black (Review)
- Cranks: Shimano HOLLOWTECH II Crankset FC-M800-1 (Review)
- Pedals: Shimano PD-M 647 (Review)
- Hubs: Surly SingleSpeed Disc-Hub (Review)
- Rims: Mavic XC 717 Disc, black (Review)
- Spokes: DT Swiss Supercomp black 2.0/1.7/1.8
- Tires: Ritchey 1.4″ TomSlick Pro (Review)
- Stem: Ritchey Pro Adjustable System
- Bar: Ritchey Pro Flat Mountain Bar O/S
- Saddle: Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow, black
- Brakes: Magura Louise FR black (Review)
- Grips: Ritchey WCS TrueGrip (Review)
- Street-Blaster: AirZound 2 (Review)
- Illuminator: Sigma Sport Mirage Evo + Evo X Pro
You think it’s stupid to spend nearly 2000 Euro on a singlespeed-bike and would prefer to buy a bike in the next store, get an iPod and still have enough money for the next holiday? maybe you’re right, but …
“If you don’t hear the voice from within - don’t worry about it.”
Nice quote from Why ride a single speed mountain bike?.
