Vor einigen Tagen die Antwort von YouTube bekommen, wie diese mit rassistischen, gewaltverheerlichten und propagandistischen Inhalten umgehen, nachdem ich Ihnen einige eher unangenehme Videos gemeldet habe.

Answer from YouTube.com regarding nazi-propaganda

Solution: Hi there, Sometimes there are different codecs that the YouTube site doesn’t know how to handle properly. When this happens, usually the result is out of synch sound. There is nothing you can do to fix it. We’re working to accept more and more unique codecs but for now we don’t have them all. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

Meine Email an YouTube.com

Today I tried YouTube.com and was astonished and frightened at the same time. I tried only a few search terms and I got linked to material that is:
  • unlawful (at least here in germany),
  • obscene
  • threatening
  • harassing
  • hateful
  • racially and ethnically offensive
Examples:
  • Some Movies:
    1. Promotion for Blood & Honor Sweden
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6M8acrsD1w
    2. Skinhead Fight Training
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fznYYX7sbQ
    3. Fascist commandos in modern Russia
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-LdceWOzkE
    4. Wake Up - a nazi recruitting video
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEZnxoRcIk4
  • Some Users:
    1. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=DMskin
    2. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=RusRusRus
    3. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Farkasfarsang
  • Something that is clearly against YouTubes terms of use. I think that 99.999% of YouTube-Users don’t want to see this AND its against your own terms of use: “In connection with User Submissions, you further agree that you will not: (i) submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant YouTube all of the license rights granted herein; (ii) publish falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage YouTube or any third party; (iii) submit material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or is otherwise inappropriate; (iv) post advertisements or solicitations of business: (v) impersonate another person.” What are your plans in order to ban this material from YouTube.com in the future? “Our community understands the terms of use and effectively polices the site for inappropriate content (similar to other open internet communities such as eBay and craigslist). Their vigilance combined with our proprietary technology helps us to enforce our community standards.” again taken from your own terms of use. That sounds great - I hope to see it happen as soon as possible. Best regards from Berlin / Germany

Also auf in die 2. Runde!
